A trio of prestigious horticulture sector awards have opened to applications, including a new competition where winners will be chosen by a public vote.
A highlight in the calendar for a number of years now, awards are on offer in a broad range of fruit, veg, and ornamental categories, as well as a series of general and individual prizes such as Best Consumer Marketing Campaign, Best Environmental Initiative, and Young Grower of the Year.
The deadline for entries this year is 17 September.
New for 2015, this competition is organised by industry magazine Fresh Produce Journal. Aiming to shake-up the traditional format of winners selected by a panel of judges, category champions will be selected by magazine subscribers. Prizes are up for grabs in 18 categories including packaging innovation, R&D, charitable initiative, and “unsung hero”.
Entries can be made until the end of August, followed by voting in September and the presentation ceremony in November.
Finally, the annual celebration of the garden retail sector is back for another year with 11 new awards across a diverse range of categories covering areas such as products, landscaping, and retail suppliers.
Entries must be submitted by 24 September.
