Horticulture Wales Team

Mark Roberts – Niche Crops Officer – Horticulture Wales  

Mark is based at our Northop campus. He has been working with Vertikit & Tech Tyfu to create out hydroponic systems, as well as maintaining these systems he is also responsible for the planting and growing of our microgreens and plants at Northop.

Becky Bird – Project Development Officer – Horticulture Wales

Rebecca is based at our Wrexham campus. She liaises with our members to see how Horticulture Wales can assist growers, producers and business’ in Wales. Along with travelling to meet members she has also arranged visits to our Northop campus to showcase the hydroponic systems used by team member Mark Roberts.

Jane Edwards, Knowledge transfer and innovation partner – Horticulture Wales  

Jane has worked at Wrexham University, primarily within the Student Services Team for 25 years. She is delighted to have joined the Horticulture Wales project and enjoys connecting with people across Wales to support their many and varied horticultural activities. The rugged Welsh landscape is food for her soul, so she often disappears with her dog for long walks. She has four grown-up children and has been married for 34 years and loves nothing more than big family get-togethers.

Laura Gough, Business Development Manager, Knowledge Transfer and Innovation – Horticulture Wales  

Horticulture Wales is one of a number of projects Laura manages for the university. Laura has worked at Wrexham Glyndwr University for nearly 19 years (she loves it!), working across various departments and projects in that time. Laura has two young sons who keep her on her toes, has a passion for fast cars, and loves organised chaos.
