Yesterday we went along to the 22nd annual Llangollen Food Festival in the town’s iconic Pavilion.
Highlights included larger than life TV chef Chris “Foodgasm” Roberts, who has his own television series on S4C – he was championing Welsh beef and lamb with an outdoor cookery demonstration. He was amazing, but he wasn’t the main focus for our visit – we went to catch up with our members and discover other Welsh Horticultural delights…
Some of our members at Llangollen Food Festival
We caught up with Hazel from Aerona – producer of Welsh Aronia Berry products.
James from Fferm Riwbob Ynys Môn / Anglesey Rhubarb Farm.
And Llanvalley with their range of skincare and household products made with goats milk, honey and beeswax.
Other Welsh Horticultural produce
Marina’s Italian Cookery make delicious Biscotti al Cocco made with Damson’s grown in their own orchard.
Woodland Classroom were show casing the variety of Welsh produce available for budding foragers out there. Although they don’t sell produce, they offer courses where you can learn about ‘Wild Food, Foraging and Wilderness Cookery’.
We also met Chirk Trout Farm and Smokery. Although they’re obviously fish based they offer a contract smoking service which might be of interest to some of our members.
